This 'diversity' issue has been going on for over 30 years now. My husband lost out on numerous engineering jobs in the 70's & 80's because he was a white male, being told his resumé was great, and they'd hire him if he was female or black.

Diversity can inhibit communication, create drag, and is not necessarily a strength. On the other hand, diversity can help reduce group-think, and bring different perspectives. IMHO.
