The SIG Sauer pistol used to kill Kate Steinle "went off accidentally" while wrapped up in cloth. In the four years 2012-2015, the New York City Police Department reported only 10 accidental firearm discharges involving SIG Sauers. None wrapped in cloth.

Three times. It shot accidentally, 3 times? Murderer admitted he was shooting at protected sea lions. If he had hit a sea lion and killed it, would he have then been convicted? Yes, he would have. #KateSteinle murdered. Never forget. #VoteThemAllOut2018 #BoycottSanFrancisco

UGH. He had been shooting at sea lions, his words to investigators, prior to killing this good, beautiful American citizen. Sea lions are protected in California, by the way.

Turns out that despite what Sanchez said about 3 shots being fired, the recovered gun had only 1 bullet missing. Still should've been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter (at least), being that he was found guilty for unlawful possession of a firearm.http://www.sfgate.com/crime/article/Trigger-of-gun-that-killed-Kate-Steinle-had-to-be-12321189.php …

So this incident makes it a first for SIG Sauer + cloth but seriously, there's so many gun producers and labels and types, why would cloth wrapping be substantial importance if there were 10 other SIG Sauers related to accidental discharge?

the only way it goes off is off he manually sticks a finger between the trigger guard and pulls to the rear. You can't accidentally do that and reset the trigger 3 separate times by accident. The fact jury bought ANY of his complete BS story is insane.

Did they accidently discharge 3x? He also initially told police he was shooting at sea lions.

That's the same question I have about this incident here: https://nypost.com/2017/10/18/target-practice-shooters-blamed-for-fishermans-mysterious-death/ … This man's life apparently wasn't even worth a charge, nevermind a trial.

You do not have to have criminal intent for negligent manslaughter basic law says if you shoot into a train not intending to kill someone and you do this is negligent homicide or negligent man slaughter.
