its called collectivization - its part of Marxist socialist - communist theory where all personal property is confiscated by the government and then unequally re-distributed between the proletariat (labor class) & the bourgeois (elite class). Mao killed 67m people this way.

Actually, the tax itself was brought on to pay for war. It was meant to be temporary. After WWI it just stayed on.

The subject of taxation is a separate subject

Oh goody..more of liberal redefinitions. Taking your money after you die, stealing the remainder of your life's work after life long taxation & depriving your family of their inhertance is now called "economic opportunity recycling'. Since when has the gov. recycled opportunity?

Its the only thing the parasictic left knows. Leech off of others success and somehow see themselves as entitled to the corpse of that success.

Thank you Stefan, but help me understand, how is this “almost impressive” at all? How can a rich man “recycle economic opportunity to his next generation” if the government take a large portion of it for themselves?

Consider the source, Bernie has never actually produced ANYTHING as far as I know, even as say a laborer. Moved directly from college to politics so the market is foreign to him. And it's not GIVING, it's government led by people like Bernie TAKING from the rightful owner.

Remember the cautionary tale of the French Aristocracy. Andrew Carnegie, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett agree. Inherited wealth beyond a certain amount brings about a society that we all abhor. It is also toxic for the inheritor.

This is what bugs me most about the death tax. All other considerations aside, it's simply ghoulish.

How can you “give” something to a person that already owns it?

Looters the lot of them. Why is it anyone else's deal to make money off of your affairs? Basically someone's wake turns into a yard sale, how appropriate...
