Forgiveness never comes becuz the abuser is "sorry" or pays the victim back (monetarily or otherwise). It is born in the heart of the offended. Usually a testament 2 the victims character, nothing w do with forced repentance in order 2 avoid further consequences 4 the guilty

Forgiveness is a matter of choice for the aggrieved notwithstanding any attempt at restitution on the part of the wrongdoer.

Real forgiveness is a deep inner feeling of freedom from hate, disappointment, revenge etc... A burden gone. To tell the abuser is just the next step, but not necessary for the victim. Receiving the Forgiveness is never earned.

God can forgive if he wants to. Human legal and judicial system should never let a monster off the hook. It is not just about punishing evil act it is about preventing new acts of monstrosity from happening. But you are right in your statement. Forgiveness cannot be squeezed out.

But according to the Christian values you were touting earlier, all one needs is to ask God's forgiveness. So now you agree that personal responsibility and restitution in this world is what matters. Great. Welcome to secular humanism.

Stefan does that a lot. But he is at least 50% of the time right unlike mainstream media. This is why we read his words I think.

Yes, I do agree with him most of the time.

No one who has been wronged owes the transgressor forgiveness. Ever. Even after "restitution". Say, when a spouse cheats. Can they really "restore " what they took? Forgiveness can only be given as a gift. It's sometimes the cruelest revenge

Forgiveness must be undeserved or It is simply justice

Courts never enforce “restitution”.

I personally think forgiveness is opening the door for the abusers to abuse even more. Would not make me feel better . Erasing them from my life instead.
