Two points; first, Trump won Virginia by 700,000 more votes than Gillespie got, and secondly, only 37% of the voters turned out. Think Gillespie should have embraced President Trump INSTEAD of attacking and shunning him? That's why Gillespie lost. Trump supporters stayed home.
