Not a slippery slope. Commonsense move. NRA will not fight. @ScottAdamsSays and @seanmdav support the idea. MAGA.

But will the law do anything? except have big brother pat you on the back and say that everything is gonna be okay?
-
Don't know. Same thing as the law banning full autos, I presume.
-
I imagine more like the restrictions on SBSes and SBRs. Still buy them, just have to pay much less and go through a tax stamp process.
-
I'd be more okay with this. but it sketches me out either way.
-
Think about this: Dems will oppose the "concession" so GOP will be doing all of it. Reciprocal CCW? Lifting '68/'86 ban and simplifying NFA?
-
Lifting the bans would mean you can buy them new but would still have to go through the same tax stamp process you must with transferables.
-
this is still politics, not policy. I understand the want to make people look good, but I'd need an argument for what this would change.

Bump stocks don't make a weapon fully auto. It just makes the trigger easier to engage. 1 pull= 1 round still. Can imitate a full auto.
-
And filing the firing pin down can create the same fire rate. So I guess they will ban firing pins too?

-
and they'll ban files. Just as long as they don't ban ice picks so I can pay them a visit someday.
-
ban files... tell that to anybody that builds anything with nails bolts etc - 1 more reply

Liberty is next! Bump stocks first. Liberty second.

The Founders meant for people to have weapons equal to the state. Those cannons in the revolutionary war didn't appear out of nowhere.

I'm a gun owner and I'm really trying to figure out why does anyone need bump stocks !!!
-
The argument is we are giving up freedom for safety. Dangerous freedom vs safe slavery...
-
I can see this point as well..... This is just something I have to work out myself... I'm NRA btw.....i will NEVER give up my firearms !
-
Any rifle owner, hunter, plunked or even "operator" prefers semi-auto (not even 2/3 round burst). Spray and pray is useless
