        When I was a kid in the 1970s I went to a school that had a playground like that: metal structures 3 stories high over asphalt. Nobody died.

        I remember we had a playground in the 1970s that had a pole for sliding down like you would see in a fire station.

        Our favorite toys in the 1960's were our chemistry sets, wood-burning craft sets, & plastic bullet-shooting guns. All are illegal today.
