In a small urban school system we usually had 1 student- in the rougher places adult arrested with a gun each year. No shootings I remember.

I went to highschool in a somewhat rural part of Maryland. I guarantee you no less than 5 students at any given time had shotguns.

Yet mysteriously no one ever got shot and people were rather polite. Well for highschoolers anyway. Good to be cautious, hysteria though...
