CTE made headlines again after a study found 110 of 111 ex-NFL players studied had the brain condition. Not a random sample, still scary!

All that study means is that 110 out of 111 players who showed all the symptoms of CTE actually did have CTE. Misleading study. Still scary.

Could still be interesting statistical comparisons. What's the total population of players? Compare to matched control population

Whether the comparison means anything or not would depend on the incidence of CTE in the normal population.

NFL took some good steps in the last few years, starting in 2009 with the restructuring of the HNS committee, back then MTBI. On a good way.

I know it, got it and live with it. Head injuries are no joke. I had to go through speech therapy after my last one.

These people need to be given supplemental oxygen ASAP after each injury - to prevent peri-vascular (post-capillary venule) infarction (WMI)

Any steroid use in these 111 sampled? Any other PEDs? Why no CTE in the 'leather helmet' days? Another attempt to feminize/soften football?
