Also likely that mothers who turn to medication are more likely to turn to medication for their kids, hence more likely to be diagnosed.

And I'd imagine there is decent comorbidity between autism and affective disoders, so the linkage could be genetically transmitted as well.

Don't have a cigarette or a drink while you're pregnant because it could harm the fetus, but hey, you can take these powerful drugs - NP.

most antidepressants say do not take if you might become pregnant are currently pregnant or breast feeding so this is confusing....

You just said it yourself. Not every antidepressant acts the same way, also most physicians advise taking certain drugs after 1st trimester

Took SSRI during my last pregnancy. My kid has 98.5 average, in all honors classes, taking 3 AP classes next year. Sorry if I'm skeptical
