Good article, but need to be corrected: "Vzla had an immigration system that attracted/assimilated laborers from Italy, Portugal, Spain"
-
-
-
They did not assimilate, create guettos and did not want to mix with locals wich they see as inferior. This create ressentment
-
They dis not saw Vzla as their new homeland, but as a place to get rich and send money/relatives back to their countries (familiar?)
-
This ressentment helped Chavez to nationalize the industry, mostly owned by foreigners or their sons, and population did not care
-
Also, not mention MIlLLION of inmigrants/refugees from Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay... mostly with Marxist indoctrination. Lot of crime
-
Colombians bring to Vzla their troubles: drugs, crime, rape, sicariato (hit man)...and some were good people Left parties use them for votes
-
Lefties feom Chile came on the 70s running away from Pinochet and invaded the Universities (Marxist indoctrinarion).
-
Also: " Marcos Pérez Jiménez’s government drew the ire of many left-leaning activists due its heavy-handed measures." Not quite...
