It really can't replace anyone but this is a step in the right direction... at least they're acknowledging that there was wrongdoing
-
I feel like they got shafted. 3 million isn't enough.

The police/sheriffs department are public entities AND most families get $0

it's hard to square an acquittal with a settlement. But what do I know? I'm being way too logical, I suppose.

Happens all the time. Lower burden of proof in civil court, with good reason.

Uh look it was sad but bottom line, if a cop starts raising his voice, STOP AND ASK HIM WHAT HE NEEDS FROM YOU. Or keep reaching. Not hard.
-
And DON'T BE BLACK!!!
-
The cop was extremely upset and knew he acted too hastily. Again, it's sad but also AVOIDABLE. I fail to see racism at play here.
-
The question is if a white person would have been shot acting exactly the same. Prejudice works subtle.
-
I am willing to concede that a white MIGHT be better off in that situation. But to say it was an act of racism is unfair in this case.
-
You're right! It's unfair to paint a decent cop a racist because of prejudice planted by media and society!
