        1) Reason 4 this: not stupidity, pride. Spanish was my 1st language. Many Hispanic immigrants know English, but refuse to speak it. Instead

2)They use their kids as translators. But as more immigrants enter each new generation is slower to adapt. USA coddles foreigners to excess.

        3) Solution: Codify English as national language! All new citizens must learn English & no more than 2 years ESL for very young.

        4) A nation w/o a set language isn't a nation of United citizens! If u are American, u must be fluent in English, either ASL or verbally!

How doesn't English literacy affect Asians immigrants. Their languages are further away from what Spanish is to English. How do they manage?

They're just here to earn money to send back to Mexico. They have no intention on assimilating

Why should they learn English when USA bends over backwards for them with spanish signs, phone options, etc. We make not speaking eng. Easy

Because we allow it to happen. My mom immigrated, learned english as a second language. Had to pass to get citizenship.

Almost every Gov form, business, etc. has Spanish translation available. TV or radio has dozens of Spanish programming.

One of the main reasons is we make it too easy not to assimilate here. Spanish speakers in the U.S. are catered to. No real need to learn.
