Their school system, media, and entertainment industry, which are a mix of private enterprise and government -- none of which would be that much different if it was all privatized.
I think you underestimate the school systems indoctrination. The media only maintains it. Anybody who has an opposite ideas to them sees the media for what it is. The school system is the real problem. Even I was a leftists as a kid because of it.
