Wow, terrible reading comprehension as well. When did I ever claim that world wars EQUAL conscription? Surely you at least understand that a world war would raise the RISK of conscription, can we at least agree on that? That’s what happened in Canada in 1917.https://twitter.com/bradstcroix/status/1181952556601368576 …

If you knew anything about the Canadian history of conscription, Canadian government-military relations, or even geopolitics you would know it’s not as simple as world war equals conscription.

You claim that you lived during a time when world war was very possible and that conscription may have happened to you because of that so how is that not making a connection between the two?

Conscription was only ever a problem in Quebec. Canadian elsewhere during the world war were stead fast in their belief that they must help the British in their battle.

This is simply untrue. There was resistance to conscription all across the country during both world wars.

From non Anglo Canadian because they said it wasn’t their fight. The government also was way closer to the monarch so it had no idea it would be a problem with the people.

Also not true. Many English speaking Canadians resisted conscription. This is well documented.

I’m not saying conscription isn’t bad I’m saying that it is necessary at times. And during the Cold War and current years it would be smart to keep it up our sleeves
