The best art provokes the greatest breadth and depth of thought and discussion. “Joker” has achieved the physically impossible – it has given great depth to a two-dimensional comic book. Dropping through a flat drawing into the deep causality of evil is a dizzying plunge.

It's only important because our collective conscience identifies with it when talking-heads of media give it credence as relevant to their narrative. Its irrelevant and does it's own thing to tie in with batman. In doing so, alienated itself from the series.
