      Empathy? Some would argue that empathy is TEACHING them how to problem solve; for example, how to fix the roof themselves so that they are then empowered with the knowledge that they can affect direct change in their situations, and improve their surroundings.

      You can’t teach a 70 iq person how to mend a roof. You can walk them through the process and have them do it, but the next time the roof breaks or anything else breaks they will do nothing. They can’t help it. It is who they are.
