Is being convicted of rape based on a false accusation worse than being raped?

A woman will still live and suffer trauma where she can see a professional to recover and heal from a assault. She can maintain her life and rebuild. A man will lose his job, reputation, friends and often family support. He can be put on a registry and have hardship to recover

Both are horrible but a woman can recover, cope and move on with a her life. A man will lose everything, possibly do jail time and if he actually found innocent he can not just walk out of prison and have employers hire him. His record will show up, he will be deemed a monster

A man would have to move several states away or even another country as his reputation will not recover and employment prospects will be bleak. Basically he is a felon even if falsely accused just based on the word of a woman

        Both are a grotesque violation.

Speaking strictly for myself, I would rather undergo my own rape experience again than be falsely accused of rape. Other's perspectives may vary, and I respect that.

Depends on the situation. Both are terrible. But assuming the false rape conviction results in years of unjust imprisonment, a ruined reputation and permanent stigma as a sexual offender, then probably yes.

Considering the culture of prisons, I'm pretty sure the former will always include the latter.

He was in training to become a dual sport Olympic athlete (Sprinting & Boxing). He then had to resort to selling drugs to make a living as his reputation was severely damaged. He’s gone straight now but these lying women took away the best years of his life. #tragic

Someone on Twitter, who claims to have suffered both, said that the False Allegations were worse. Somewhere in my feed I RT'd their post.

Beeing accused never stops. If she is believed no one feels sorry for the accused. The punishment for false accusations should be harsh. Not like today where the accuser is let of with no punishment.

Well hopefully punishment is adequate to the crime, therefore equally awful injustice happens in both cases. That really should sink in for everyone who falsely accuses of rape, asking for punishment.
