“Joker” is agony, murder and horror with no redemption. The nihilism of a world without God or good. “Crime and Punishment” it is not. Nietzschean resentment given a loaded weapon.https://twitter.com/senator_snips/status/1180355572408799233 …

Jungarian archetypes rear their head and challenge viewers in a variety of different mediums. Labeling it a 'comic book movie' as a pejorative dosent make it any less effective art. Good art creates a platform for a discussion -- allowing exploration of chaos/order.

omg u really are an old fart. Your trying to say it’s a comic book movie when it’s really not. it’s a character study piece of art that HAPPENS TO BE ABOUT A COMIC BOOK CHARACTER. and the crime & punishment makes this art

This wasn't really a comic book movie, more of a pessimistic zeitgeist movie. Batman's archnemesis was just a delivery mechanism for a dire warning; an extreme case of someone with no concept of redemption, festering in darkness, surrounded by the similarly minded...

Those people do exist, and they will pile up. The Joker is just their catalyst. We've seen it before in history. Would you criticize a movie about the Russian Revolution for having ended on a dark, hopeless note?

Don't "Cathy Newman" the guy, Stefan. You're better than that. He didn't say anything of the kind.
