Farmers have to deal with objective reality, educated city folks mostly manipulate words and people.https://twitter.com/Jim_Talks/status/1179187601724645379 …

Why is it that farmers seem to have more common-sense and discernment than most educated city folks?

Also, farmers have time to think. They aren't spending their time pushing papers. Physical work allows you to use your mind to mull over all sorts of things, while your body does the work.

And if something goes wrong they have to sort it out themselves instead of blaming others and passing the problem onto somebody else. Farming is one of the hardest jobs done for ungrateful people.....

Something everyone should do at some point in their lives. Live somewhere remote for a while. Around nature. Ideally in a cabin or trailer, without television. Just for long enough. Especially if you involve yourself in local activities helping wildlife, like birds or turtles.

Diversity quotas, trendy inclusivity policies, Soy Lattes and HR mandadated "LGBT Pride" events don't get the fields ploughed. Muscle and steel get the job done.

Objective reality, like that time when the Chinese countryside was pillaged by bureaucratic decree, and 20 million starved while huge stores of food rotted in storage in the coastal cities?

They also live with failure while enduring massive risk from all of nature and volatile markets EVERY YEAR. They eat a lot of humble pie, but when they do well, it's awesome. GET TO KNOW YOUR FARMERS!

I'd also add that a good amount of time spent in the soil and the fields and learning it,brings clarity. A clearness and purpose of thought that allows further insight. My thoughts
