To everyone attacking and mocking me for talking about being abused as a child... YOU are the main reason why child abuse continues – abusers rely on your shaming tactics to silence their victims. My mother understood this. You are serving her. And evil God have mercy on you

And there's the reality of what's happening: you're hitting way too close to home for the abusers.

More than that. Many who have been abused are desperate to forget, desperate that others shouldn't know. They're still living with the after-effects of feeling weak & shamed. There's a huge psychological trauma that can last life-long without help. 1/2

Plus, some end up having a fear of getting angry at their own children, of becoming like the abuser. They can be afraid what people will think, will see them differently after coming forward. I'm glad of those like Stefen, with courage to speak up.

I understand; my father was abusive. The externally applied shame, guilt, and pressure to be quiet took a toll. The interesting dynamic? Once I was able to speak openly about it, it all disappeared. The truth is powerful and liberating. God bless you for sharing your truth.

This is so true and I can relate. They mistake our strength as weakness and love to continue the scapegoating. I pray for them too. They have no idea what’s coming for them.
