To everyone attacking and mocking me for talking about being abused as a child... YOU are the main reason why child abuse continues – abusers rely on your shaming tactics to silence their victims. My mother understood this. You are serving her. And evil God have mercy on you

My wife was just talking about this. Those who suffered abuse require a circle of secrecy about themselves. They don’t want anybody to know. It must take a great deal of courage to confront and confess it.

And there's the reality of what's happening: you're hitting way too close to home for the abusers.

More than that. Many who have been abused are desperate to forget, desperate that others shouldn't know. They're still living with the after-effects of feeling weak & shamed. There's a huge psychological trauma that can last life-long without help. 1/2

Plus, some end up having a fear of getting angry at their own children, of becoming like the abuser. They can be afraid what people will think, will see them differently after coming forward. I'm glad of those like Stefen, with courage to speak up.

Pay no heed , they are consumed with the darkness , let it eat them , misery and bitterness is there legacy . On the death bed , they will hate what they have turned into. You sir can have a clean conscience. Let it go. Stay fresh.

I hear you, but I must pay heed. Abusers watch these kinds of conversations to see if they can continue. Or escalate.

I was mentally and emotionally abused by my and she allowed physical abuse by another. When I tell people I’ve cut her out of my life they act as if I’ve done something wrong, they always take the “but she’s your mom” stance. It’s disgusting.

Not up to speed, but anyone that attacks a survivor of child abuse is evil! Childhood traumas are life altering and require strength, resilience and perseverance to work through that pain (usually years) To be able to free yourself & not perpetuate that same type of abuse is HUGE

The plight of the abused man: You speak, or you try. No one believes you No one cares No one wants to hear anything is wrong If you let them see you bleed, they laugh, they demand you justify either silence or vindication We are loved when we are useful, and discarded when not.

Why would anyone mock someone for this?!?! People truly amaze me every day, not in the "wonderful" way, either. I applaud you👏 A lot of children are not here today because there was no one there to speak for them or to hear their cries

Well my physical abuse was helpful because I learned how to be respectful and not be a bad child. Dennis Prager said it best when he stated “if we’re born good why do we have to teach goodness”. That physical abuse taught me goodness.
