I have been a SAHM for over 18 yrs. The husband and I agreed that we wanted to raise our children this way.

I gave up my career & stayed home with my children. I now work to help pay their tuition. My husband, of 27 yrs & I, never put our children in daycare. I also don’t expect them to ‘look after’ me as I age but, I would like to always have a relationship with my children.

My parents took converted our living room into a room for my grandparents when they were too old to look after themselves. My Father is passed but Mom will never be in a nursing home.

Very few adult children are looking after their aging parents. Too many 2 income families with no mother in the home. Now the best a lot of aging parents can hope for is their children actually place them in a good old age home, not the cheapest. Their inheritance and all.

Yea, it's horrible that the elderly and infirm are being cared for by *checks notes* actual medical professionals who are able to provide round-the-clock care for their patients.

Justice sometimes takes a lifetime to come into fruition. Many who realize the abuse that they endured will remember when an aging parent is in need of their children the most. They'll return the favor. Will they enjoy the 'care' by immigrant CNAs they desperately imported?

I'm not a parent but, it seems incredibly hard. Every kid is its own universe. Just within my immediate family we each had different experiences and reactions to our own parents. It's a crap shoot. But, the upside looks worth it.

My mother's life has been ruined the past ten years caring for her invalid 97 year old mother. I won't do that to my kids.

My mom didn’t go back to work until my little brother was in high school. She’s the smartest person I know, could’ve done anything. She chose to raise us. I’m so lucky.

I’ve volunteered at a retirement home and boy is this statement ever true. A lot of the seniors I spoke to say their children barely even visit them. It’s actually very sad. We have to end this cycle.
