I will work very hard to help women avoid my mother’s fate. She was a beauty who used her looks for vanity. She now half-lives in an abandoned empty hell. Some people think I hate women. If I hated women, I wouldn’t warn them of where vanity leads.

I came from a good home, no complaints. But my mother treated my father (breadwinner) like utter crap. His hard work afforded her to stay home and take care of "us". I knew from a young age, this scenario was off.. i forgave her for her misgivings; she was confused.

And yet again, every single mother somehow requires the help from her offspring. Coincidence?

Adult children looking after their aging parents (including fathers) is a tradition as old as humanity. Just like the traditional mother role is ancient. My son often tells me that he will take care of me. I don’t even expect it of him, but it’s touching.

if it's alzheimers then vanity didn't do this to her, genetics did this to her and eventually it will do it to you.
