After thinking it over...I realized that waiting til marriage CAN reduce the chance of getting ones heart broken. However a husband can still break his wife’s heart and that doesn’t make her worthless. She can still be a good partner to someone else, although emotionally wounded.

I think it reduces that risk immensely. And the other half of that equation is when both partners believe their intimacy is a sacred act meant to secure their bond and create a family, rather than just a bit of physical pleasure as our current culture would have us believe.
