That same wikipedia link says 10.5 million slaves were brought to the Americas so pick the number you like.

Both are correct, about 12.5M brought to the Americas, of those around 600k were brought to the United States.
-
Just realized the other tweet says Americas, that is incorrect

There are so many references I can't remember.
-
I really wasn’t aware so many slaves were brought to S. America and the Caribbean
-
I assume they had the highest casualty rate due to all of the tropical diseases.
-
That would explain it, the need to replenish lost slaves in the tropics. Total population of the United States in 1830-40 was around 15M and most of the northern states banned slavery by around 1800 (I believe)

Is it safe to say over 90% are because of islamists???
-

Absolutely, and the death rates were staggering. More whites were taken as slaves in Africa, than Africans in America. This is the scholarship that is buried for reasons of political correctness. Read "White Gold" by Giles Milton http://www.gilesmilton.com/white-gold

The middlemen who enabled this white slavery owe reparations to Europeans

“The white people didn’t survive” I don’t know about that-most of North Africa are basically white and there are Lebanese blondes and girls with swarthy skin and blue eyes spread out here and there
