Because relativism leads to arbitrariness in legal decisions, which become the whims of the judges based on their position, not on concrete law.

I would argue that force is the.core ingredient of all civilizations as state power must always be imposed and maintained. Might makes right is pretty much the common denominator of all civilizations.

The Court of Blood and Iron DOES decide human conflicts. Not completely true to Heinlein, but fun nonetheless:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBxgrr0wL8M …

That's an MA thesis? Sounds like a truism to me. Indeed this cannot help but be true because even in the case of democratic decisions it's ultimately a question of majority forcing its will on a minority.

As a guy who watches moly but hasn't read the masters thesis, as I understand it, he's saying there are 2 types of ppl: aristoteleans and Platonists. If Plato is correct, truth is only knowable to philosopher kings and civilian must be subjugated
-
That sounds like an especially dark Nietzschean interpretation of Plato that bears almost no connection to what the man actually said.

If your best answer to a would-be dictator is "what's true for you isn't true for me" you're toast.

The necessity of reason to ground itself in universal presuppositions is an assumption that Kant, Hegel and Plato all make. The Platonic forms render all empirical observations deductions from logical models. Kantian morality is absolutely universalistic. Only Locke disagrees.
