  I've noticed Women tend to be influenced and change at least slightly to their spouses political and personal beliefs. Also tend to be happier in relationships. So 2 birds with 1 stone

  I don't think it is a question of conservative vs liberal. I think women vote for "safety" whereas men vote for "freedom." I think women look to be protected and the Welfare State feels safe. If a real threat arises, women will abandon the welfare state quickly.
