Cultural cohesion in Poland and Hong Kong and individual pride in that culture amongst the people that live there.

Because, "counter-protesters" is a dog whistle for "authoritarians that need to be lined up and shot". Meanwhile, Hong Kong and Poland have vocal populations that have a disdain for policies dictated by crazy people.

BTW - are you coming to Poland this November?

They were mainly homogeneous, with very little racial/ethnic tension. When I went back to the U.S. I realized how much the Government really hates it's lower class citizens that is perpetuated by a racial/cultural disconnect.

One of the most patriotic Americans I’ve ever known was a Polish NCO in my Air Force squadron many years back. He had escaped communist Poland, and made his way to the US where he became a citizen and joined the US Air Force.

Are these places perhaps where cultural engineers have succeeded?
