Without God, we’re stuck with subjectivity, and if anything is obvious it’s that there are things that are objectively morally wrong (and right).

There is no objective morality. Only nihilism However, we are social creatures. There is an evolutionary imperative to form societies and support the tribe. This is how we have derived all our religious morals - as a survival instinct. Morals do not come any deity.

I'm an atheist and an advocate for the free market. Sure, I'm one data point. But I can't say I have ever heard in all my years of listening to atheists anyone to say the state is the solution to religion. All major atheists I know of are free thinkers and pro reason, not state

I'm not sure this is as much the case in the UK. We mostly seem to be moving down the route of Christian ethics under agnosticism. I think this is because our general approach to religion is moderately casual/non-practicing so the transition to godlessness was less tumultuous

Imagine the universe without the human characteristics deists apply to it. That's God.

Stop stereotyping atheists. A lot of us can't stand any kind of group conformity and The State is the worst form of that.

Religion doesn’t make a person good or moral. I can be good and moral and be an atheist. Your god doesn’t rule my world.

YES, also most atheists start incorrectly as 75% of atheists are actually agnostic. EVERY single time I've spoken to an atheist and described what their belief means and how they most likely are agnostic because "they" do believe in some sort of power above humans, they agree.

I am curious: have you had Sam Harris as a guest for your podcasts? I do not necessarily agree with Sam's arguments, but if you haven't, it could be epic.
-
Sam Harris said he doesn't want that, because he's afraid of associating with Stefan. Thinks it makes him look bad. Also he is against giving "extremist" like him a platform. It's all nonsense of course, but hey, cant force the man.
-
There are holes in Sam's logic re: free will. I respect much of Sam's work but I simply cannot accept it at face value because he makes too many assumptions.
-
About his "free will" arguments: I can poke holes pretty much at will. His arguments are thin, based on very limited experiment and, as I mentioned before, susceptible to alternative explanations.

No, they didn’t want it because it wasn’t a rigorous enough proof. Libertarians themselves (I recall a writer for the Mises Institute tearing it apart) don’t buy it. Of course, you’ll then say that academic standards are bunk anyway because reasons (

I'm an atheist and the state isn't my God. We all aren't like that.
