Still, there is a point when a corporation has a lot of the same problems as a government.

No. Corporations have no coercive power outside of their relationship with the government.
-
They have no coercive powers, but I was referring to waste, inefficiency, and general stupidity. Yes, their competitors eventually exploit those failings, but a lot of resources are still wasted.

Boycotts can work, but rarely and, if they are a big company, requires a huge amount of media attention to achieve the protesters' wishes. Even this may not work in the long term, however, if the company has a monopoly on a necessary product The state you can "boycott" by voting

You can if you're strong enough and the state is weak enough. Cartel does it.

Can't boycott a monopoly that holds all of a necessary resource in your region. Need some water but the corporation sells it for $50 per gallon? Can't boycott that. You need a government to restrict corporations
-
Import water gallons $2 each and bankrupt the company. Unless there is some restrictions on imports, by the government. It is very very hard to make a monopoly without the gov.

You can vote for a different monopoly of violence, you can't vote for a different monopoly of water or whatever else.

You can definitely boycott the state. The problem for you is that it would sacrifice your wealth in order to do so. And you would never do that
