Complaining about being “under-paid” is like complaining about being “under-dated.” No one owes you a date, and no one owes you a raise. Go earn it.

I have a 70ish acquaintance who was complaining about the “wage gap” and to back it up told the story of when she was a secretary the (male) salesmen made a lot more than her so she did sales instead. What some women don’t understand about this equation could fill a stadium.

Well, if you work for the government and they ban competition you will necessarily be underpaid with no route for a raise. It sounds horrible and I feel bad, but you'll have to appeal to voters for a raise. No Avenue for negotiation.

1/2 I think a lot of the frustration with entitlement ideas is that people follow the so-called rules of society and they aren’t met with what was implicitly promised. Play by the rules, act decently, get a degree, have a bit of intelligence, and get a decent job.
