    Apparently Amazon thinks that the govt is a charity because many of its employees end up using govt benefits because they are so underpaid.

        There definitely are though such things -- $trillions of them in fact -- as government subsidies for low-wage workers, in health care and other welfare benefits.

        However, in a country with an abundance of cheap labor, the fair value of simple labor may be below what people consider to be poverty. Immigration and globalism provide an abundance of cheap labor.

        In some ways I disagree. When the Waltons and Bezos are worth 100s of billions i think to myself they could probably pay their employees.

        Unfortunately our markets haven't been free in a long time. Need to do away with horrible laws like minimum wage so we can have actually have price discovery.

        Actually it’s the other way around, Amazon is subsidizing the government. If not for the Amazon job, the government would be paying more benefits.

        We don't have a free market right now but this is still correct. Too many laws and regulations make it near impossible to prop up better paying competition.
