Those historians. Are they Christians?https://twitter.com/JacobusCuesix/status/1171520970747572226 …

Just compare how woke historians describe the Crusades vs the Islamic Conquests. For the latter they always make contextual allowances, judging Muslims by the morality of their era. With white Xtians they are mercilessly intent on using modern moral standards.

Just saw part 1 of 4, of a documentary Slavery Routes, and it was about the Muslim slave trade, it surprised me a bit but it ended by saying that next came the whites and then slavery became so much worse...so this documentary was too good to be true.

I was thinking of Runciman in particular who gave the most glowing treatment of Islamic civilisation in his books on the Crusades. Most liberal historians take him as an authority on the subject.

No. Most of them are secular. Also I am not feeling the implication. Jews don't want to live as dhimmi anymore than anyone else does.

I listen to the History of Philosophy podcast which has covered in cheery fashion Muslims conquering Christians, Hindus, and other Muslim sects, because this is just what groups did back then, but when it came to the British in India, conquest suddenly became shameful oppression.
