Patriarchies will always dominate history because matriarchies (as PC makes us) implode demographically.

Matriarchy has done fine in history. But it is less common and thus less likely to have produced tournament winners over time to have outsize influence on genetics and culture.

The fact that a civilization got female rulers do not necessarily mean that that they are matriarchal. Elisabeth I's England for instance.

As I understand it matriarchy really only work in small societies with no enemies around. As of such they are ill equipped for long term survival.

I derived that conclusion from empiricism. Logic is too easy to bias.

The western world have become matriarchal nowadays. Meanwhile, and heavily defended by the feminists, hyper patriarchal cultures invade us. Our defenses have beeb largely been abolished and what we got have not been allowed to stem the influx.
