I thought Original Sin was the self hate basis of Christianity.
I’m old enough to remember when Original Sin was about being human. Not just about being white.

It's the recognition that we are not born in perfect communion with God. It's also washed away at Baptism so can't really be considered a form of self hatred Also self-hatred (as opposed to hatred of the self) is a sin and potentially a heresy (e.g. Gnosticism).

That's nice, although is seems to me a like rather cheap ploy to extort conversion. 'Get baptized or burn in hell.' There are very worldly explanations for these mechanics.
