Which as an oriental, I've always found funny considering the word "Nippon" literally translates as "oriental" in Chinese. The word Orient literally means "sun going up land", but everyone wants to have something to latch onto that they can be terminally offended about.

It's confusing. Russians are not Indians are not Chinese. So I say South East Asian, since people generally get the geographical idea. Without having to qualify an exact Asian nation instead. Even though Japan or Korea are not SE Asia. And also Europe and Asia are attached

Doesn't the term Asian in the actual sense mean "large land mass?" If he is talking about race in the Caucasian and Mongoloid sense, then I guess the terminology of the conversation should be addressed.
