Been cohabitating with the love of my life for 20 years. I brought two daughters into the relationship, and we had two sons together. He has been an exemplary father and has never abused our children. Thank god I found a GOOD ONE. Patting self on back. I have high standards.

Well no one said 100% or even 55% more likely. But the stats do say something about yet another advantage to marriage and making it work.

Are there statistics on the reverse? So biological dad living with new partner? Had to pull out all the self restraint I had a while ago at a party seeing a stepmom being absolutely disgusting with her 8 yo stepdaughter. Been thinking about it ever since.

I would imagine that a step mom would be similar to these stats.

I expect that there would be a difference, but no idea how large the difference would be. Women are prone to a different type of violence (mental/emotional rather than physical), which is often not counted in these stats. Also physical violence by women is often disregarded.
