Some Evol. Pysch (David Buss) believe it brings curvature of the spine more in line to what is perceived as optimal. The non heels picture look a bit masculine in my eyes. Not much but it add up with other things. Western women typically wear pants nowadays with shirts being rather rare. Being in a male dominated occupation also make her a bit masculine.

I take women in heels more seriously. It's obvious that they are willing to work and inconvenience themselves to accomplish something. A pair of Keds is a display of selfish laziness.

Or..... they don’t want to have their feet literally deformed. High heels are not a uniform conferring competence.
