The end buyer of the securities got screwed, everyone else inlvolved in the sham made money. The banks would be losses were covered by taxpayers through government programs, the mortgage companies all took their cut.
So if it was a setup by the US government, in collusion with the banks, to shield them with bailouts from the beginning, while offloading these to foreign entities without revealing the truth... that is highly criminal. WHY no global outrage of getting screwed by the usa?
