Nothing is “chasing women away from STEM.” On average, women prefer working with people not things, and spatial reasoning is not a core feminine strength.https://twitter.com/DSpidery/status/1167038137962512385 …

That very insulting to women. Making things easier because someone thinks they are dumb. Instead of fixing the current stem environment that is chasing them away.

Also, women's priority to be provided for is a culturally sanctioned entitlement that's denied to men. Women can "toy with" STEM & then have a laugh if it doesn't work out. Men can "toy with" being provided for, but after their career options have crashed, laughing isn't an option.

I have to assume this was sarcastic. Literally no girls in my HS were interested in programming and I graduated in 2005. It was hardly niche at that point. My uni class had a 90/10 ratio of men to women.

My daughters were talking to me after school complaining that their teachers were really ramming STEM down their throats even though they had even no interest in it whatsoever.

I work with many female engineers, mech, elect. They are every bit as capable as their male counterparts and seem to enjoy it. PS They are paid exactly the same, gender pay gap is a hoax.

Maybe women don’t want to pursue a STEM career. And I can tell you, schools are eager to accept their applications!

Why such a push to get women into STEM? Why not same to be auto mechanics? They want to increase the supply of STEM labor to drive wages down.

I'm currently enrolled and all but a couple of the women in my classes don't have the drive, passion, or the chops to excel at calculus, chemistry, and physics. Many women seem to be there to grab up a high IQ male, then apply their credits for useless degrees.
