I attended an engineering school (Drexel)in the late sixties. Those professors have no idea how to soften standards. They just don’t think that way. If you can’t cut it you don’t belong.

Disgusting. Have 2 daughters, sister in law and 4 nieces with engineering degrees. This is about parenting not universities.

My eldest is a Veterinarian, the youngest is pursuing a law degree. Both brilliant girls following their hearts. Yes, genetics plays a part, but a stable happy home does too.

I think he's getting at the natural tendency for men and women to gravitate toward certain fields. If there aren't enough women as engineers it is by choice, not because the tests are too hard.

Diversity in safety. What could go wrong.

Underengineered and potentially failure prone products. Call me a bigot, but I prefer the products that I might have to use actually meet stringent standards. Diversity of quality isn't a good attribute to have. :/
