I was trained in human evolutionary psychology/biology and secular ethics formally, and have done a fair bit of research on my own. I have never been able to reconcile a materialistic worldview with any moral system. To me materialism=nihilism. I'll read your book though.

Why would that be so hard to comprehend? Even if there is no real purpose of this life we have, take a look around. There are many beautiful things in this world, besides all the shit. Knowing this, wouldn't it seem plausible that morals are good?
