Correct. Jesus ushered in the Jubilee Year—forgiveness of debts. EVERYTIME lending on interest is mentioned in the Bible, it is spoken of in disapproval. Parasitic usury is a form of theft. Luke 4:16-30 “to proclaim freedom(deror) for the prisoners...to release the oppressed..”

If I recall, Jesus took a kid's lunch, and used that to feed 5000 people. Now, sure, there was a miracle involved, but it started with just taking a kid's lunch. Jesus also told a dude to give away all his money, but I don't see you (or anyone) eager to obey that suggestion.

And washed their feet, and showed compassion, and healed them, and didn't discriminate between people when demonizing behaviours rather than assignments or duties. He also didn't lie, or manipulate people for personal gain. This whole comparison is asinine stern to stout

The real story is the face of the emperor was on the coins so people were selling the one neutral-faced coin fit for offering at many times the face value of the currency. They were exploiting faith for profit on the steps of the temple. Context.

I agree. Hard but not impossible. Power tends to corrupt. With riches usually comes power making it more difficult indeed. A tougher test.

The camel clause is a metaphor. Plus I am rich so I have to make this possible for myself otherwise I will need to hand my wealth over to you.

I’m an atheist and don’t care tbh, and would stand to lose plenty under wealth redistribution. However, Jesus’s logic is quite clear—a camel passing through a needle is an impossibility, but is more possible than a rich man going to heaven. Your beef is with Jesus, not me.

You are probably right. As a Christian and a scientist, I find myself disagreeing with many things in the Bible so I don’t have any issue at all with atheists. But what I do try to live by are the metaphorical lessons and the ethics. Thank you for the discussion good sir 👍.
