What bullshit. People (men and women both have depression, anxiety, addiction, and suicide) suffer because capitalism isn't working for us. Our economy is run by huge corporations against whom we lack effective bargaining power at work or as consumers.

That’s what it’s SUPPOSED TO BE. But you know that’s not how it really works. One of my problems with you Stefan (and I like you) is that you think the market works perfectly and as intended and no interventions are necessary because no one has an unfair advantage.

Hell is paved with good intentions. You assume that... 1)the people intervening are competent. 2) the people intervening have good intentions. 3) The interventions do not have unintended consequences.

I agree. But that doesn’t mean that you do nothing. Politicians aren’t the answer but there IS an answer.

Sometimes the best thing to do is do nothing. Thinking you can tell someone else how to live their life *better* is pure arrogance.

Yes and that trade largely drives social and cultural norms (what we want from the market reflects who we are and influences how we behave) so don't complain if you don't like modern culture considering how the economic system you idolize is mostly responsible for it.

I lived in socialists country and people had the same problems but nobody talked about them publicly. In capitalism you can anything even blame it for everything, you could never do it under socialism.

That's fine for an individual transaction, or even a small group of parties. But as a basis for an economy with millions of people in disparate financial and social situations, it clearly isn't working perfectly, or even at all, for many people.

Exactly. Look at Jeffrey #Epstein, very savvy about capitalism. Those girls weren’t physically forced to do anything. They were persuaded it was to their ‘mutual’ benefit. Power differentials (age, education, income) don’t enter into it. The magic dust of capitalism absolves all

With government-sponsored corporations, capitalism is not a fair playing ground for businesses. Only mutually beneficial, in this particular instance, for the corporation and government. This is not fair trade capitalism by the people and for the people.

The point is well taken though. Capitalism is malfunctioning right now, the most obvious symptom being income inequality. It behooves all of us capitalists to fix it to head off something much worse replacing it. See Sanders, Bernie.
