Our schools have not been teaching reading, writing, spelling, arithmetic, history and civics. Our kids can barely write, have no critical thinking skills and don’t know a thing about our government. We are in real trouble. Teachers are teaching to the test, not the content.

My mother didn't learn how to read until later in life and she often makes up the end of a word, she and my sister are both dyslexic and used me as a human spellcheck a lot, both read and write better in cursive than in script.
