Some of the best philosophy I've read was in fantasy/sci fi. One of my all time favourites is Terry Pratchett. Philosophy, humour and fiction.

The Republic books by Plato were interesting. It seems like he came up with socialism, and then goes on to say it could never work in actual practice. I DID NOT like Symposium. Nope. Not my thing.
