I used to think her villains were too flat, to the point of being a caricature. But looking at politicians and media personalities today makes me think she gave them too much depth and nuance.

Ayn's work is so incredible. Life changing. For me at least. She is a "romantic" novelist, not in terms of focusing on "romance" but in writing in a way that is probably not appealing to contemporary readers. Her radio broadcasts and interviews are amazing.

Her message has value but her style of writing is robotic.

Fountainhead was my favoritw, too. I appreciate the breadth of Atlas Shrugged and the simplicity of Anthem, but Fountainhead is best balance of story and philosophy, IMO.
-
I liked We The Living.

Leonard Peikoff wrote a book called Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand. It’s all rolled into one not so easy to read book. It is a concise representation of Objectivism from Metaphysics through Art. For a lesser slog Philosophy, Who needs it?
