I think it is important to recognize that atheism is absolutely politically neutral. We keep using the term "leftist" to describe liberals, but the only thing liberal is left of is conservatives. Liberals are very much down the center of politics when looked at the broader scale.

  I’m not a political fundamentalist. I just don’t think that Jesus was the son of God, that God chose the Jews as special, or that Mohammed heard the Koran from an angel. I don’t have a religious or fundamentalist bone in my body. Probably just built like this.
