Agreed I started work in mid 20s after wasting years in school. And I mean literally, it gave me an excuse to stay home and not work so I spent extra time I didn't have to at a community college so it was affordable. Once I started working everything changed and I'm much better

I started working at 12. My oldest is 16 & starts his first job in food srvc this week. He was filling out W4 & came to me in a panic- “how do file/pay taxes!?” (I’m self employed, tax time is traumatic). I explained employee vs 1099. He asked why don’t they teach this in school?

I started working in fast food at 15. It helped me to learn responsibility on several fronts.

Lots of jobs in Canada that used to be filled by teenagers were going to temporary foreign workers and now mostly adult newcomers and also seniors. The teenage job market here has been dramatically reduced

Stefan maybe you should do something along the lines of basic life lessons your parents or the government won't tell you since your audience is mostly that demographic.

Work is the heart of life. Something too many do not have to do.
